Haha I remember the obnoxious marketing behind that little Rush.
I had that card in my computer (at the time, a P166 with 92mb ram and 2gb hard drive and a SoundBlaster AWE32) back when I was a 6th grader. Brings back memories. Ah Half Life!
Must have been the same guy I recently bought a Voodoo2 off for $15. 😉
Unfortunately, this was one of 3Dfx's not-so-great products, but it brought Glide gaming to those who needed a 2D/3D solution. 2D was so-so and because of the architecture's I/O method of polling rather than using external interrupts, it resulted in reduced performance. Also early Glide games won't work unless patched to specifically support the Rush.
Even more props though, if you can find a board on ebay that has the Macronix (MX) 2D chip instead of the Alliance one. 😀
