The link in that thread doesn't seem to be working. Or at least to me, every time I go the page can not be displayed.

I installed VDMSound and patched it to the newer version. Yet, I can't get it to work. Since the compatiblity list doesn't seem to work for me, I do not know if I am trying this in a lost cause. For Duke3d the sound setup detects the soundblaster yet when you go to test it. It says initializing and gets stuck and doesn't get past this. The game actually runs fine in win2k, there is just no sound. Another game I'd like to play is Rise of The Triad, which the sound works but it gets really messed up on the video... dunno why.
