I just thought I'd throw this out here before buying anything. I want to upgrade my GX1's memory. It says in the specs that it can be upgraded to 768mb (3x256mb), but there are larger capacity PC100 and PC133 modules available, up to 1gb in fact. Is this a hard limit of the memory controller, or is it just a case of 1gb memory sticks not being available when the manuals were written and they will work fine? I know in Macs of the time period you can exceed the documented memory limitations with later, larger capacity memory sticks of the same type with no bother.

Nope, the GX1 has the 440BX chipset, so all the limitations of that apply... 256MB 'low-density' sticks are the best you can do.
