Hi all,

Just trying to replay warcraft 1 and it runs ok.... except that the mouse scroll (move mouse to edge of screen and click to move) and they key scroll around the map moves way to fast, so it just shoots to the edges of the map, even on the slowest setting!

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks!

You need to slow your computer down.

If using dosbox you can change the emulation speed via ctrl+F11/ctrl+F12

Doesn't work, that was my first thought.

The game runs fine not too fast, and on loading dosbox automatically sets itself to 100% max cycles. Turning this down only makes the game run slowly and the scroll is still to fast, just whips to edge of screen on any setting, even the slowest!

Use fixed cycles, not percentage of max cycles. For example, try starting with cycles=10000, and increase or decrease if necessary.

Has there been any resolution for this problem?
I have the same behaviour.
Warcraft 1 is working fine, except the mouse is waaay to sensitive.

I tried decreasing sensitivity, lowering mouse pointer speed, setting cycles to a fixed (low) value.
i put the core on normal, set the cpu type to 386... no luck.

any ideas?

Set DOSBox to 20000 cycles.
In the game: Menu -> Options -> Mouse scroll / Key Scroll.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I already tested them.
I was running Warcraft1 in DOSbox on a virtual machine.
When I run it on my physical machine, the mouse works fine. 😒

Problem solved for me! It would be interesting to find out why exactly it does that. I can't remember any other dosgame running on my virtual machine that had these kind of mouse problems.
