So I've had this board for a long while. I remember a few years back testing with a K6-2 450MHz and a Pentium 1 166MMX. The board seemed to work alot better with the Pentium 166mmx to me. I recently bought a 233mmx and think about rebuilding the system for fun. Just asking if there are any hangups on the board, does the 512k cache really suck compared to the 1/2mb boards, also is the cache inclusive or exclusive of L1?

Finally looking around I found the board is the same as a DTK PAM0052V motherboard and got bios 1.12 that supports K6-III cpu's.

Some quick specs:

Processor CX 6X86/CX 6X86L/CX 6X86MX/CX 6X86M II/AM K5/AM K6/AM K6-2/IDT C6/Pentium/Pentium MMX […]

How would this sound as a system behind it?

MEM: 128MB SDRAM
VID1: STB Velocity 128 AGP (Riva 128ZX)
VID2: Voodoo 1 4mb or Voodoo 2 12mb
AUD: AWE32 / AWE64 Gold / AOpen FX-3D plus
HDD: 40GB Samsung or 10GB Seagate

I have alot of Videocards and haven't thought much about them. Range from Number Nine Revolution 3D, S3 Trio, S3 Savage 4, Matrox G200A, TNT2, ATI Mach 64 PCI, Also have a few Trident cards I have access to.

Lastly it looks like Windows 95 would be the best GUI OS to put on it for gaming.

the voodoo 1 would be more appropriate for a p-166 processor. I wouldn't use a v-2 unless you plan on going 500mhz+, in fact I have a system that I plant to run @ 1ghz for a pair of v2's. that being said, if you are going to use a voodoo card, the other video card doesn't matter much. Matrox are the best at 2d graphics, I have a g200 in my V1 system. My v2 system I'm using a number 9 agp card.

The via mvp3 chipset was a REALLY GOOD chipset for its era. 128mb of ram is fine, but more is always better. I "always" max out the ram in a board. mostly because I have a lot of ram laying around.

I'd say it sounds pretty good. The V1 may be more appropriate for a P166 indeed, but just consider the extra 66Mhz as extra 😉

I don't know about cacheable area on the VIA's though.
