I wonder if this is a bug, is it known?

the other day I tried the following by mistake under DOSBox

copy file.bin file.bin

I ended up with a file.bin with zero bytes.

It's enough to type in the file name once in order to clear it:
> copy file
Looks dangerous. Now, what does real DOS do here?
