Could DOSBox please follow the XDG Base Directory Specification for the
configuration/data directory on linux/freebsd?

and in how many years will change this again ?

It's freedesktop standard which isn't changed for some years. And it's not going to change in future.

Well, it's now 2015 and this has not changed. Not only that but more tools and
other low level utilities are adopting the standard from git to util-linux and
even jack (audio).

Would you consider it now?
