Hi, all. I just joined today after having some trouble with running my old Privateer CD-ROM under XP using DOSbox.

The problem is that I want to get my Xbox 360 controller working in lieu of a flight joystick. The DOSbox console seems to detect it fine; the only problem is, when the game gets to the opening menu, the cursor immediately rushes to the bottom right corner of the screen and stays there. This means I can't calibrate the joystick.

I've tried going into the config file and changing the timed value under [joystick] to "false," but then the game locks up at the opening cinematic (the music keeps playing but all I see is the curve of the planet; no text, no animation).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

its because of the way the trigger buttoms are configured non xinput games expect both triggers to be on the same axis
your could try xbcd drivers
or perhaps xpadder
or pinnacle profiler
