Hi folks,

I've been using DOSBox with the D-Fend Reloaded front end quite successfully for about a year now. I can play Civ, Quake, and Duke Nukem 3D with no issues at all. But there is a slight problem when I play Angband, an excellent dungeon-crawler that was ported to DOS from Unix in the late 80s. Angband runs fine, and is playable, but there is an annoying problem with the right shift key. It just doesn't respond. It isn't a show stopper, because the left shift key still works properly, but that makes it somewhat awkward to access the commands that start with a capital letter under your left hand, especially ones that you use a lot in Angband like (E)at and e(X)change weapon. It also doesn't work when I'm at a command prompt in the DOSBox shell. I've tried changing the code page, and remapping the right shift key with the DOSbox keymapper, but to no avail. I'm running DOSBox .74 and I have the latest keymapper files from the DOSBox ftp site. Any insights you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry...I should have mentioned that I've done all that. The right shift key works fine on the host. It does not work in the CLI in DOSBox with or without the frontend. fwiw, the host is an Alienware M17R2 running Windows 7 Ultimate w/SP1

thanks for the link, ripsaw -- I found a fix that worked. Changing the microsoft ehome remote keyboard device to "HID Compliant device" worked in DOSBox, but I'm still having the problem if I use the D-FEND Reloaded frontend. I'll troll the D-FEND boards to see if this is a known issue with D-FEND.
