This is really wierd because it seems like I used dosbox on the exact same computer I have now a year ago or so, but now that my periodic interest in playing dos games from my childhood has been rekindled I've found that, for whatever reason, I just can't get dosbox to run smoothly on my pc. When I try to fullscreen it everything just sort of stops, which is a problem I've never had. I'm running windows 7, any advice out there?

Thanks alot man. I'm just gonna have to do some studying up, the only way I've ever used dosbox or any other emulator for that matter has been by simply dragging the game file onto the emulator file, then typing in the command. I was also so young when dos was going on that I'm not familiar with the commands, but i'll figure it out.
