Greetings everyone.

I am trying to play the Eye of the Beholder games, which I have read everywhere are perfectly emulated through Dosbox. But although the games themselves run well, there is no sound in them no matter what I do. I have tinkered with the Configuration for some hours and read the Manual but still got nowhere, and googling for some more hours yielded no results as noone seems to have had problems getting the sound to play. Do you have any ideas what the problem could be?

I have Windows 7 x64 and am using DosBox 0.74. My motherboard is a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R which comes with a built-in sound card.

Did you also read your game's manual? Depending on the game the configuration is set differently:
EOB1 asks you (or it should) when you start it. Choose Adlib or SoundBlaster. (I seem to recall only Adlib being an option for that one).
EOB2 should use setup.exe, again choose SoundBlaster.
EOB3 uses sound.exe choose Sound Blaster.

It is important for EOB3 and (probably) EOB2 to select the right address, IRQ and such.

The default values are found in your .conf file, for DosBox 0.74:

sbbase=220
irq=7
dma=1
hdma=5

SoundBlaster must be on in the .conf file, if usure check or use a default .conf file.

It is important to know that EOB1 and EOB2 almost never have music playing.
