I was thinking of upgrading my system from a 366 Celeron to a 466 Celeron. Would I see much of a difference in game play with integrated graphics?

You'd see some improvement but don't expect miracles. You'd see a much bigger improvement if you put in a discrete graphics card or a Coppermine Pentium III.

Though if you already had the 466 chip on hand or it's cheap/free and you're wondering if you should put it in? Yes, the more the merrier.

If it doesn't cost more than a few bucks, then sure, go for it. like maddmaxstar said, the performance gain won't dramatic, but it should be noticable.

A much nicer boost would be running the celeron on 100mhz FSB instead of 66mhz with some decent cooling 😀

What board are you using? If you're using a s370 LX board, chances are your board won't support coppermines.
If you're using a slot 1 board, it might support 100Mhz FSB, giving you more of an upgrade path.

To go back to your question, you probably won't notice it's integrated graphics card improving (much), it depends on what board you're using.

I picked up the 466 chip on eBay for 9 bucks free shipping, so yes it's cheap. I am a stickler for keeping systems stock. I am reliving part of my youth from Mid 1998 to late 1999. I was not rich then so this little celeron system was something I could have afforded back then, I like recreating everything from back then including the lag times limited hardware ect.

From what everyone is saying, it might not be worth it to upgrading the CPU. Sounds like a Geforce 2 MX PCI might be the better way to go.

It's running a BCM IN810 mobo, but I bought an Intel CA810E as a spare part, can't find BCM boards any ware. Both boards will take a 100mhz FSB but I want to keep a celeron.

If you want to keep the machine period accurate of what was affordable, you might want a Voodoo2/Voodoo Banshee/Voodoo3 2000 PCI, NVidia Riva or ATI Rage 128 based card instead of the GF2 MX, which were more 2001-02.

And sounds like both boards use an i810/i810E based chipset... so it'll most likely support Coppermine chips.

I picked up a voodoo 2 PCI card on eBay for 35 bucks, hopefully that was a good deal. I still now wonder if the CPU upgrade should be warranted with a voodoo 2 card now?

Well, since you already have both the chip and the Voodoo 2 (which should be on it's way to you now) I'd say "yes".
