I’m an 80's toy collector but have begun to pick up sealed pc software and peripherals circa 91-95. I have fond memories of looking through that huge magazine called Computer Shopper circling the components I wanted for my 386 DX 40! Well I’ve began looking for some of these components and found some great finds!

SoundBlaster 2.0 (x2) (1994)Sealed NEW. I got both for $20 bucks from local Craig’s list ad.

Sigma Designs Real Magic MPEG card.(1994) Also sealed new. Found this at a surplus store. I actually had one of these in my rig back in the 90’s! My friends thought it was so cool to watch CD-i movies on my PC.

Logitech Mouseman (1991) Sealed. I think this had to be one of the most common 3 button mouse besides Microsoft’s basic mouse.

Not much of a collection but im excited to see it grow. Anyone here have some cool old but new stuff to share?

I have a sealed Sound Blaster 1.5 uTcBPl.jpg

I have several boxed sound cards that aren't sealed though. such as: Creative Gameblaster/CMS, Gravis Ultrasound original version, Sound Blaster 2.0, 2x SB Pros in old style and new style box, SB16, Awe32....

I've also got a few sealed boxed CPUs

Lower Left: Slot 1 Celeron 300 'Covington' (the original model without L2 cache)
Lower right: Socket 370 1.2Ghz 'Tualatin' Celeron

Oh, I've also got an Athlon XP 2100+ 'Palomino' in sealed package that I forgot to take a photo of...

I'm always looked to expand my collection. I've just won a boxed, sealed DX4-100 Overdrive and Pentium 166 MMX on ebay, waiting for them to arrive.

With your RealMagic MPEG card do you have any software for it? I've got a card without box but I've no games that use it. I'm particularly keen to track down the RealMagic version of Return to Zork but so far its eluded me...

I have another one boxed "open" but only drivers on original 1.44. Do you need? Unfortunately, besides whats inside my sealed version, i have no actual Real Magic Games. Just a hand full of Phillips CD-i movies. Back in 95 I had Dragons Liar and The horde Real magic versions. I sold that system in '96 with all the software! 😢 I regret it now! Real Magic Cd-Roms are next to impossible to find!! BTW love what you have, especially that SB 1.5 🤤 😳

I've got a few sealed things. Within arms reach right now is a POD83 and a POD180MMX. The rest of my sealed stuff is packed away. Oh, there's also my ATi Graphics Pro Turbo 4mb that I can see from where I'm sitting and a Backpack parallel port CD-ROM drive. I can't be bothered to dig out the rest right now.

If you'd be so kind as to upload them that would be great 😀 on http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=72 I've uploaded the files I have but it would be good to have a copy of an original disk. 😀

How much did you pay for those?

I use to really go after sealed stuff, but when the time came to use it I would open it and it would be dead. So I think something happens to the part over time sitting there doing nothing. So now I just go for used stuff. Less chance of it being dead. That's just my experience.

I like the idea of having sealed items, but most of them I've opened out of concern that they might not work. But at the moment I have two items immediatly that are still sealed (though I'm probably going to open the Gainbery just incase there's severe damge because the box looks a little off).

For me it's the same. I have several retro hardware bought sealed, but not knowing that everything inside the box is fine just makes me open them and check. At least i know i have the "real deal", card, cds, manuals, etc..

Right now the only retro sealed thing i can remember is this:
