Hello everyone!

When I run dosbox in fullscreen, the screen gets squashed vertically. If I start Windows 3.1 in dosbox, it displays correctly, but if I exit windows, it gets back to being squashed even if I start a game.

I tried setting a fullresolution instead of leaving it on original and I tried modifying output from surface to something else but that only makes the squashed screen wander to the bottom or the top of the screen instead of staying centered.

This error comes up on my Intel core 2 quad machine with 4 GBs of RAM and a 1 GB Geforce GTS 450 graphics card.

Dosbox displays correctly on my old single-cored machine with 1 GB of RAM and a 256 MB Geforce Fx5700 card.

(Both run windows 7, and I used the same monitor).

Do you know how to fix this problem?

This is not the error. This is the Feature. 😀
The "aspect" value is not applying to the text modes in the vanilla DosBox 0.74. Wd decision...
If you are needing this - use something like Ykhwong's build, it correct all of the modes.

Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).

Thanks, I tried out that build, it works great with it! Text mode looks a little distorted but it's better than that squashed-screen look.
