I understand that top priority for the Dosbox crew is given to games support, and I second that.
Nonetheless, the printer port passthrough has a value for tons of other software that would otherwise
work great under Dosbox.

What is the official position regarding PAID support for integrating this feature?

As already stated in another thread, code that worked against version 0.6 is available.
The task would consist in bringing this code up to date, and maintaining it as needed in
the future.

If any core developer is willing to do that, what would be the price tag for such an assignment?
If no one is available, would it be possible to provide an external patch and having it accepted
for merging with the official code base?

Thanks in advance for considering my questions!

I gladly accept any kind of reward for directing you to Hal's megabuild.

Seriously, games support is not the top priority for developers, its the only priority. There are too much threads discussing about parallel port integration, and this thread is calling for a early closure.

Yep. Just get HAL's megabuild and be happy.

DOSBox developers seem to do all this hard work just for fun. 😎 I guess you could always donate some amount of money to them if you feel so willing.
