Hi, i have acquired a pair of memory sticks from this seller:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/330583307027?ssPageNa … 984.m1497.l2649

I have tried these modules on this Soyo motherboard http://www.motherboard.cz/mb/soyo/sy-7vba133.htm
is currently running a PIII 650mhz coppermine and only 16mb are being recognized, I have also tried the same modules on my Aopen Super Socket 7 board and only 256mb are detected, what could be happening here? are this RAM modules incompatible with these 2 motherboards?
Most of the older Super7 chipsets had problems with so-called 'high-density' memory... it'll sometimes work, but only half of it will be recognized.

However, I can't think of any logical reason why a Via Apollo PIII board would only recognize 16MB. One of the main advantages of that chipset is that it's pretty forgiving about memory compatibility. Have you tried the sticks one at a time, to see if they both behave the same way? Because the only thing I can figure is that maybe you have a defective stick.

The SY-7VBA133 has an Apollo Pro 133 (VT82C693A) chip, while the item description of the RAM says it's only supported by Apollo Pro 133A (VT82C694X) chipset.

Yes I have tried both and one at a time on both motherboards, same results.

It seems that I have 2 incompatible motherboards with these modules then 🤣
