The old Microprose install utility often has issues detecting the amount of freespace on a target drive.

In this case I have the original install floppy for cyberstrike. When mounted and the install is run I have gotten it to detect necessary hardware components and proper amounts of xms. However when i hit the install button it claims I have zero disk space available.

I am using DosBox 0.74 and I have also tried the latest plain SVN build. In both cases i attempted to use the -freesize switch when mounting the hard drive. I have tried the values of 1, 2, and 10. All report the same issue (Zero free space).

Other mps installer based games can be worked around by copying files outside of the installer, however these appear to be packed and require the installer to decompress them. I'm not sure what the compression type is.

So i thought I'd see if there were any tips considering several older Microprose titles are affected by this.

I wonder what kind of searches you tried that failed to turn this up...
"...needs 0 bytes", so won't install? (Machiavelli The Prince)

As for CyberStrike, it's mostly useless without the long-dead GEnie service. There is a modern remake, so not much interest in emulating the server side like was done for the Sierra ImagiNation Network.
