Hi all, my first post here.

I got the game to work (Privateer 2 The Darkening), but none of the video sequences will play, meaning I lose the plot line. Everything else works, space flight mode, audio, even the joystick works correctly (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro).

Upon starting the game, the screen flickers, shows snow/static, obviously trying to play the opening video sequences. I can escape past that, and it takes me to the game beginning scene, in the bar. Whenever I click on a person to start the dialogue, again, the screen flickers as it tries to play a video sequence, then returns to normal screen, and allows me to click on an option.

All other ingame features are working correctly. I can buy/outfit a ship, launch and fly around.

I have been tweaking the config file, playing with all the settings. I had to slow the game down, to get the joystick to stop twitching. Other than that, no luck with the videos playing.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Service Pack 1, all updates installed

I'm using one (tried two different ones actually just in case) of the downloadable warez copies of the game, no cd required. I used to have the original, bought it long time ago, but no clue where it is. They got my money, so I feel fine using a "copy", I don't see any conflict, they got my money already. All flames > /dev/null

I welcome any suggestions. I have read through the dosbox manual, but didn't find anything in it that helped.
