I read up on the ppa process. Well, it's a bit bullshit, since they want you to build in their server instead of providing a debian file (probably to allow traceability of malicious files). They explicitly forbid any deb packages

However this really fucks up projects that don't use buildtools (like my own, a java project that does a debian file just fine with a deb ant task).
