Attempting to play Goal! in dosbox (0.74). Everything works great up until it prompts me to press the fire button on the joystick to start the match (or practice, or whatever).

I have disabled the joystick emulation in the conf, but this did not help. I also checked the options and could not find a way to opt for keyboard control.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

If you look in the TEXT.ENG file, or any of the other language files, it appears there are only options for JOYSTICK1 and JOYSTICK 2, nothing like KEYBOARD or MOUSE, so appears it does need a joystick. If you don't have a joystick, you can create a "joykey" setup in the DOSBox mapper by mapping keys to joystick movement (like a d-pad, obviously not analog) and buttons.

Thanks ripsaw. I had problems in the past getting the mapper to function properly. This time I was able to get it working perfectly.
