Hello, this is my first time using DOSBox (besides for a game on steam where it was done for me) and I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand.
I'm trying to run/install Ultimate Soccer Manager 2, a game I loved playing as a kid. I followed the instructions on how to mount a game from the DOSBox wiki but I'm still having some problems. (http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Basic_Setup_..._of_DosBox was the guide if anyone is curious to see the steps I followed, it was the running a game section)
I'm not sure if I've missed something or I've done something wrong. I originally wanted to run USM98 but decided to go for USM2 when I saw it was more compatible with DOS (USM98 isn't on any lists for it), I again followed the instructions and mounted it with no problems, I was a little concerned when the game didn't have a .exe file but I saw you can mount and run from a .bat file so I used that instead. (_USM2.bat)
It went okay, but when I go to run the file DOSBox created, it does nothing, the command prompt opens up for a split second then disappears and nothing happens. I have spent a while searching for a guide to follow or something that could tell me if I had chosen the wrong file or if there was something I missed but I couldn't find anything, and what I did find didn't explain it clearly and just confused matters.
I saw something about changing the CD.CFG file to run into compatibility mode and mounting that and something about changing a config.exe file (but I don't appear to have that file in the game).
I am running on Windows 7, using DOSBox 0.74.
If anyone has this game running from DOSBox or knows there way around DOSBox more than I do at the moment, I would appreciate some help.
**** Side note, if it helps:
Running the game normally, from _USM2.bat gives the message "The program or feature "\??\C:\oldgames\USM2\LEAGUE.EXE" cannot start or run due to incompatibity with 64-bit version of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available" with the same message for "\??\C:\oldgames\USM2\USM2G.exe" aswell.
