Hello and Good Day to all,
I'm trying to play my Turrican 2 version (Topware Silver Games Version).
I've scoured the internet and this forum and discovered that, next to the real thing, DOSBox with activated GUS emulation would be ideal to experience the game.
I know about some GUS driver patch for Turrican 2 and have applied that patch (i.e. I renamed the original driver to NAME.org and placed the patched driver in the folder).
I downloaded the GUS files from the Vogon website. I used these:
HuggyBaby's Ready-To-Use DOSBox Ultrasound Folders (featuring the original GUS 4.11 set and the enhanced Pro Patches Lite 1.61 set)
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/about10574.html
I tried the game both with the normal and PPL drivers.
My DOSBox config has all sound emulation enabled and uses the default parameters. The Turrican 2 configuration is set to use GUS using the correct values, or so it seems.
When the intro music begins, it crackles and pops or starts to sound "disharmonious" (or rather, the speed of the music varies).
My cycles are at 3300, I have a relatively new (2 years old) PC with a Dual Core Intel CPU.
Can somebody point me to my error if I made any?
EDIT to clarify stuff:
