MT-32 slowing down?

A few days ago i was testing a Matrox G550 PCI with my Pentium Pro machine (see specs in signature) so i could use the DVI connector.
Card works fine but when i fired up Lotus 3 the MT-32 played much slower than usual. Putting the Tseng ET6000 back in restores the speed to normal.

Anyone ever experienced a similar issue? Can it be related to video output frequency and the game itself?

I guess it is more related to the G550 IRQ taking the same IRQ as the MPU-401 going to the MT-32 ?

What frequency do you get from the DVI port when running Lotus III? If it's 60 Hz instead of 70 Hz, that could be a problem.

I've tried DVI for DOS games only once and found that my Geforce 4 forces everything to 60 Hz, which caused timing problems with a lot of games.

Same!

Very noticeable with demos. I switched back to using VGA.

Tested again:

With DVI = 640x480 @ 60Hz
With VGA = 720x480 @ 70Hz

So, like you guys said, DVI is not good for DOS gaming.
