Strange floppy disks.

I tried to use DosBox 0.60 to run a protected program, that now I have to use only under Windows 9x/Me in pure DOS mode. Problem is, this program reads something (some sectors?) from the original floppy disk to pass the copy protection. In windowed mode, it seems the program can't do that, so I can't use it.

Since I want to switch to Windows XP, DosBox seemed to me the solution but, sadly, it doesn't work anyway! 🙁 Even mounting drive A: with the "-t floppy" option.
I think the floppy disk is formatted in a strange way, so it can't be read correctly with the emulated method offered by DosBox.

Since I'm a newbie with DosBox, is there something I can do?

Could we have the name of the program?

Yes, it’s my fault.

I'm not sure but I think dosbox doesn't support reading sectors.
Look for a crack to bypass the protection, hey since you've got the original one that wouldn't be a bad thing 😀

mount the floppy as A and -t floppy
Their is some fake sector reading then 😀
e.g. it reports okay instead of our usual fail

Although this is stupid hack it works for almost every game 😀

How to ask questions the smart way!

The program is an engineering program and is not common at all. Mounting the floppy drive with -t floppy doesn't improve... 😢
