when I use cachechk.exe on my 486 I get:

"Hmmm. It looks like RAM at megabyte #3 is REALLY slow!

What does that actually mean?

One of the cache is bad? or is it talking about RAM?

How do I locate megabyte #3?

I think it is (one of the) cache modules or the TAG RAM. But you will want to check the RAM in another computer to make sure those are OK as well - because it is much easier to swap SIMM than DIP modules.
