Apparently this guy does. I don't know what exactly he's running on, but it doesn't support subtractive blending. Notice the unblended marks, unblended floor hole (!) and vertex light mode on, and this is a Q3 1.09 press release version as it has Q3DM1, green hud numbers and a spinning machinegun barrel. It ain't PowerVR, because PVR can't even display Q3A's elements properly with its wrapper.

The episode the video is from aired in 2000, however I believe the clip was shot before November 1999.

I'm not sure how much can be taken from a three second clip in a video talking about hunting games. You might as well ask Who professionally reviews poor games period.

So that's what Adam Sessler did before X-Play. 🤣

I miss TechTV. Why did G4 have to ruin it?

On this site: http://www.oldgames.sk/casopisy/ you can find tons of old mostly Czech and Slovak old computer and gamers magazines. A lot of the time the games were tested on slow hardware, like say Descent 2 on 486DX4 or Doom 1 on 486/33. It was not on purpose, but simply because our country (and our Czech neighbours as well) at the time had such a shitty economy that not even the people who wrote these magazines really had "top end" computers.

That is why for example Quake got quite low ratings (5/10 or 6/10) while Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, Redneck Rampage etc. got glowing reviews everywhere (to be fair those ARE kickass games, but Quake is kickass too). In extreme cases such as Rocket Jockey the game got extremely poor ratings because it was really meant for 500 Mhz CPUs (unoptimized software renderer) at a time when 500 Mhz CPUs did not even exist.

In all honesty, I cannot even find the clip.
