Someday, maybe, I'll know enough to be able to try writing this, but that's a long time in the future, if ever:

Is it possible to write a patch for DOSBox that would run the RESCAN command at regular intervals, say 1 or 2 seconds?

If so, is anyone interested enough to write it and post it here?

Many thanks in advance. I don't know how useful this would be for games, but it seems to me that there might be some games that could use it.

(Of course I already know that Ctrl-F4 rescans; I'm asking about the possibility of something that occurs automatically.)
