Gabriel Knight1 Fatal Error

My systems:
AMD Anthlon XP 2000+
512M pc133 RAM
GeForce4 MX 440-8X Graphic Card w 64M Ram
On board chipset sound--SIS 730s
Windows 98 (ist edition)

I tried running GK1(disk version) with patch1b on dosbox0.6 & directly under win98, at the end of day 6, after Gabriel went into the swamp, go thr questions, watching cartoon show, the problem exist juft when Malia tried stab on Gabriel. The error message is:
Fatal Decompression:
Source Not Exhausted
Script 64917/$fe

And then the game stopped. Any workaround? Thanks

Sorry, typing mistake. Should be Athlon XP2000+ CPU & Windows 98 1st edition.

that's a common error with the game...
at least, when you run it in windows.

for your sake, i hope this is the only error you'll get,
since it's easy to get past this point.
press spacebar to skip sequences like this... of course,
you won't be able to see it entirely, but at least you can play past
that point, right?

if you (desperately :p) want to see the sequence though, there's
a GK fansite somewhere which has all the sequences stored as AVI
or something. or as seperate JPGs. can't recall the link though.

P.S.
can you post here what it says in the RESOURCE.CFG file?
(can be opened with notepad)

Tried disable sound and/or changed to other driver but bo use. Thanks

well, the RESOURCE.CFG seems fine.
i played the disk version too a long time ago (in windows xp that is) and it gave me the same error.
just skip the in-game movie by pressing spacebar.
