Hello, I'm new here, and wanted to ask a quick question about future DosBox releases.

I've noticed the ver of DosBox reports DOS 5.00 in 0.74, will DosBox get up to DOS ver 6.0 or even 6.22? There is at least one command I've noticed missing, which is edit. I'd gotten so used to doing everything in edit, that when I'm in DosBox and need to open a file, I'll try to bring up edit before I realize DosBox is just an emulator and I have to exit DosBox, or Alt + Enter, to edit that file.

On a side note, not really DosBox related, my 486DX is running DOS 6.0, and I no longer have the 6.22 update disks.

And I also wanted to thank the developers for putting together such a great piece of software, that let's me get back to a real OS, away from all the GUI OS's we have today.

No higher dos version is needed for games nor is edit. Grab edit from freedos, place it in your path in dosbox and run it.
If you need a higher ver reported change it (set ver or ver)

Ah wasn't aware there were other DOS resources out there.

Thanks 😁

EDIT: Actually I found a website that has bootdisks and has individual DOS files for download. That's more of what I was looking for. Thanks again 😀
