I am running populous on dosbox 0.74, but when i click the ''save a game'' button and then click the space under ''file name'', it does not let me enter the file name, but asks for my deity name. Is there anyway to fix this?
that's the copy protection activating. You type in the same name that you used when you started the game, and then you answer the question about the shield.

So check your manual again.
i have not got the manual and cannot find anywhere online that shows the passwords for all of the shields, is there anywhere i can find this without buying the game w\ manual?

Well, if you don't have the manual, how did you get past the one at startup..?
If the manual isn't at http://www.replacementdocs.com , then you can obtain the game very cheaply and legally from http://www.gog.com .
