I was digging through my collection of CPU's and I came across this thing, I have no idea where I got it:

Has anyone seen one of these before?

A bit of googling turned up this:

http://www.cpushack.com/chippics/Boxed/BOX_Hy … rRace586_B.html

I dropped it into a system which had a DX2 66 in it, and it was reported as a Am486DX4-Plus with a 100MHz clock. I was impressed that it actually worked, it's a dodgy looking thing.

Some before / afters:

Speedsys: 25.5 / 35.11
3dbench: 45.2 / 58.8

Not bad. It made DOOM feel a lot smoother, which is probably what I would have been interested in back in the day.

Looks identical to the Am5x86 Upgrade chips made by Evergreen.
