Correct me if I'm wrong about this, but it seems DOSBox doesn't recognise changing floppies/CD-ROM once it has started. It still thinks whatever you had inserted at the time is the current disk, no matter how many times you've changed it.

Now I am loading these properly as floppy/cdrom using this:

MOUNT A A:\ -t floppy
MOUNT D E:\ -t cdrom

Obviously, this rules out playing multiple CD games, and even rules out installing games from original floppies.

Is this fixed yet in the current CVS?

Assigning a hotkey to RESCAN command would be good.

How are you going to issue a RESCAN command inside a program which is asking you for the next disk/CD?

with a hotkey, right not it is not possbile 😉

A hotkey would be a good idea, a better one would be for DOSBox to actually recognise disk changes externally (and thus internally).
