Hi all,

I just received my ASUS P5A v1.04 motherboard from someone off of eBay, came with an AMD K6-2 CPU and 64mb PC-100 RAM.

It posts fine at 333Mhz.

What i'm having an odd time with is the seller stated the CPU was 333Mhz well the CPU itself says AMD K6-2/350 on the cover so i'm assuming this is a 350Mhz CPU, so I jumper set the FSB to 100Mhz and the clock multiplier to 3.5x per the ASUS P5A manual I found online, but it won't post on that setting at all nor will it post when the jumpers are set to the default that came with.

Any ideas wtf is going on? I'm thinking the motherboard maybe needs a BIOS update or something, but i'm not sure if it's on the latest BIOS or not.

Ok, quick update, posting is now working fully, the case was the culprit, I had put some electrical tape over one of the case risers [the risers are NOT removable], well when I placed the motherboard one tiny little sliver of riser had cut through the electrical tape and was making contact with the motherboard, I now secured it with 4 layers of electrical tape for that riser and the motherboard now posts properly. Hooray! 😎
