Is there a way I can get DOSBox to retrieve or set via the conf file the Machine Name?

I'm trying to run a FoxPro for DOS application under 64 bit Windows 8 and the FoxPro code retrieves the machine name and sets some special variables based on the name returned.

you could through commandline arguments, but
DOSBox IS NOT SUITED TO RUN YOUR NON-GAMING DOS APPLICATION

Argh. Okay thank you for the response.

There are a lot of posts over at Microsoft's FoxPro forums suggesting DOSBox as a solution. It works except for a few low level builtin functions.

I'll find another solution. 😎

Unfortunately those are misleading posts as DOSBox is not suitable for data-entry and non-gaming purposes. A real virtual machine software (such as Microsoft's own Virtual PC, go figure) would do better for FoxPro.
