Terratec EWS64XL Win98SE problem

I have installed the card into a new system (Socket 7 P233 MMX) and it seems there are some driver problems. I'm unable to run Terratec Win98 software, it all says that there are no drivers. There's no 'Terratec EWS64 Synthesizer' in Multimedia section, only FM and MIDI-2 (which seems to be a daughterboard header).

There is PCM sound present though and if I run DOS games in a DOS window, there is also only PCM sound but no GM music heard. If I reboot to DOS mode, there is both PCM sound and GM music.

What kind of evil magic is this?

Did you configure the EEPROM with EWS64CFG?

Nope. But it seems the problem was that I didn't upload no bank in EWS64 Synthesizer device parameters. After I uploaded one, the problem is seemingly solved.

No, it was not solved. Now it seems to me that enabling and disabling EWS64 Synthesizer device turns it on (at least to the state when EWS software starts working). But even after that the driver says that there's no SIMM installed and Ed!son complains about 'not enough EWS memory, bank load failed'. In DOS, SIMM is detected properly and banks load normally.

Quite bizarre... I can recall having inexplicable driver issues with the card too, removing them with the Terratec tool and reinstalling helped (you are using the newest drivers I hope?).

What card revision and memory is this?

I have already uninstalled the drivers with Terratec removal tool and installed them again. Drivers say that VxD version is 2.80. I downloaded them from Terratec FTP.

Card revision is 1.2, while 6 Mb SIMM is installed (I think it's equipped with 6 Mb by default).
