Hello, I've been wanting to try a few of my old games on my laptop, and discovered I could do so through DOSbox.
Problem is, I tried to install the S3 drivers on Win 3.1 and it doesn't seem to be working.
After I input the location where I have the files and select the 640x480 256 colors option, I click acept and instead of getting the restart message, it asks me to input the files location again. No matter how many times I click OK, the same window keeps popping up.
I decided to try the Tseng drivers, but when I copied the files to the folder I'm using as C:\, my computer slowed down and I could not see the files on any of my drives anymore. I deleted all the Tseng files and my computer went back to normal, but now I'm not so sure about trying with different drivers.

I'm running the 0.74 version of DOSbox on Win 8.

Here I input where I have the S3 Driver files

Choose the desired display

And after clicking OK this is the message I get. And if I click OK it pops up again.

I get this message if I click 'cancel'.

Hmm, never experienced that. Please try downloading the s3 drivers from the guide and unzip those again.
And also try from outside of Windows, meaning, quit Windows 3.1x, cd to C:\Windows and run setup. Then select the vodeo drivers in that dos program

Windows 3.1x guide for DOSBox

DOSBox SVN snapshot for macOS (10.4-11.x ppc/intel 32/64bit) notarized for gatekeeper
