Hi all, I am very new to dosbox and don't have a lot of time to spend learning every aspect of it. I'm not even entirely sure how to ask this, but here goes.

I have an old game(Lords of the Realm II) I am going to be distributing to several computers. Its runs ok on windows XP but is a lot better inside the dosbox environment. The problem is kids are going to be using it, and getting it running in dosbox is a little complicated. I've had other games in the past(bought from gog.com for example) where I was able to just click on a shortcut and it would launch dosbox pre-configured and just run, and all would be well.

I have no idea how to do that, though. I'm not even sure how to get started, haha.

Help?

Thanks!

Pretty much all you need to do is add the lines you would normally type when you start DOSBox to the end of your DOSBox.conf, in the [autoexec] section. Or if you like, you can make a copy of your DOSBox.conf, make your edits in that copy of the file, and then specify the copy in the DOSBox shortcut using the "-conf" parameter. Details are in the DOSBox readme.

Alternatively, you can just use one of the many DOSBox frontends available, such as D-Fend Reloaded.

Yeah that did the trick. That is actually surprisingly easy to do! Thank you!
