Hi, I have gotten Windows 3.1 to run successfully in Dosbox. However, I notice that when I type MEM from the starting command prompt, I have about 15MB of extended/expanded memory. When I run Win3 and double click on the command prompt in Main and then type MEM, there is only 1MB (1024k). Elsewhere on the net I read:

"If you use the mem command to view memory from within a Windows 3.1 virtual machine, you will only see the amount of memory available to the virtual machine."

So I assume this applies in my case, and 1MB is all I get in Windows? Can I increase this amount? The "system resources" under About... show 48MB free but I guess that includes the swap file.

"Virtual machine" refers to the environment that Windows 3.1 creates to execute non-Windows programs (like MEM) - they're run in virtual 8086 mode and won't see more than 1MB normally. This has nothing to do with the total amount of memory available to Windows itself.
