It's really hard to do a search and research something when you cannot remember what it's called 🙁 I came across a reference to a small plug on some mother boards that is supposed to be a Sound Blaster ISA port that some PCI sound cards were supposed to be able to connect to, that allowed them to work like an ISA sound card (direct hardware instead of software emulation drivers.) At least, that's what it sounded like it did. So, I'm ready to read up on it in more detail, and I cannot remember what it's called 🙁 2 hours of searching for ISA/PCI sound adapter bypass and many other search terms that I think should apply without finding anything. So....
Anyone know what the bloody thing is called???
Did it ever get any support? I don't remember any cards having a plug for it on them. But then I avoided PCI sound cards for a very long time too. Pretty much until I went to WinXP on my primary system (and lost the ability to do a pure DOS boot.)
Does anyone know if it even worked (assuming there actually were cards that supported it.) I remember seeing MB's with it, but I don't have any to refer to now.
