I have a dual soundcard setup. Not that it is a "normal" setup at all.
I have both a Sb16-Pro-PNP and a GUS-ACE. The difference between my setup and "normal" setups like the one you want, is that my GUS is a soundcard add-on, in the form of a card that can run independendly. Think of my setup, like the voodoo-1/2 setups, of isa-soundcards.
Now...
I have disabled adlib on the gus. And the system only works, if I leave out soundblaster emulation in autoexec.bat, when loading gus-drivers.
It can do SB-Emulation, yet as of no use, because I have a real Sound Blaster card.
The other thing, beside adlib/sb being disabled, is that I am running on the following settings.
Soundblastercard:
I/O: 220, IRQ: 7, 8bit-DMA: 1, 16bit-DMA: 5 (joystick disabled).
GUS-ACE:
I/O: 240, IRQ: 5, DMA: I can not remember, yet it is not the same as the Sound Blaster.
Joystick disabled, adlib disabled, and I put an "REM" in front of the SB-Emulation in autoexec.bat.
So, yes. It can be done, only difference is that my GUS is somewhat build for it, by standard.
Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....
