So when you adjust the mixer volume, does the game reset it again?

Personally, I had similar issues, but in my case the CD Audio was too quiet. Because I use an external audio mixer I simply route the CD Audio signal with a cable to the mixer 😀

This is also handy because the CD Audio cable is very good at picking up static. So for recordings I always mute it. Most CD-ROM drives have a headphone jack but I also have a cable that used the little Audio plug on the back of the drive.

No it's almost like the game doesn't even see it, it's like windows is playing it as an audio disc while the game is running but you can select the tracks and stuff in game like you normally would. So once you adjust the audio outside of the game it's fine but it's way too loud most of the time unless I turn it way down in the mixer panel. It's weird I've never had this problem before with older computers, the sound blaster live and it's various clone just seem to do this. 😒

Weird... I never had that problem before. It's 99% likely to be a problem with the creative's drivers and the way it routes the CD audio.
