As the title of my post indicates, I'm looking for a mechanical "gaming keyboard" without media keys or macro keys.
Basically, what I'm after is a nice black, preferably "rubberized" keyboard, if possible with multicolored back lighting that doesn't have macro keys, media keys or "FN" key for putting extra features on the F-keys.
Anyone know of such a keyboard?

WinXP : PIII 1.4GHz, 512MB RAM, 73GB SCSI HDD, Matrox Parhelia, SB Audigy 2.
Win98se : K6-3+ 500MHz, 256MB RAM, 80GB HDD, Matrox Millennium G400 MAX, Voodoo 2, SW1000XG.
DOS6.22 : Intel DX4, 64MB RAM, 1.6GB HDD, Diamond Stealth64 DRAM, GUS 1MB, SB16.

Why not disable those keys instead?

It's not the Windows key I would want to disable, but media keys (play, stop, pause, skip and so on).

Yes, that is an option, but I'd like to find something with back lighting (preferably rbg) and if possible a rubberized feel. The normal Cherry keyboards I've seen have generally had the regular hard plastic feel.
I'm in the planning stages of a gaming/high-end pc build, and I'd like to color match everything as much as possible, and I'd like a good mechanical keyboard that I can color match with the rest, but which also has a "premium" feel to it. After some googling it does seem like FUNC has one that might fit my needs, but I'd prefer plain keyboard layout, i.e. no extra keys, no usb hubs, no auto-fire switches and things like that.
Yes, I know, I'm difficult 😜

Get a Model M and paint the keycaps with black Plastidip.

The model M has nice tactile feedback for sure, and for a retro system I'd gladly go with that. The model M is a bit big though, and doesn't have backlights.
I've been doing a bit more googling and it seems as FUNC has a keyboard that might fit the bill, it's got a "Fn" key for using the F-keys as multimedia keys, but I'm guessing that by disabling the HID Access Service these wouldn't work, and possibly that "Fn" could be used as a normal Windows key.
Thanks for the suggestions anyway, and feel free to suggest any other nice keyboards. There might be some surprising solutions out there.
Oh, and I guess the ideal for me would be a Keytronic KT-800, rubberized with MX Blue or perhaps Green switches and rgb backlight. I wonder if anyone does that. 😀

Why is it so important that the media buttons are not there, just don't use them?

I find that they often mess up the layout and as such the ergonomics of the keyboard.

Check out the rosewill mechanical keyboards. ..they're rated pretty good and they seem to be a very good value. I do like the simplicity of some of them. http://m.newegg.com/ProductList?Keyword=rosewill+mechanical

Thanks, I will have a look at their keyboards.

The Feenix Autore keyboard looks lovely, but unfortunately it comes in US key layout only.

Best fit I can think of: Razer Blackwidow Chroma - http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-keyboards-key … ackwidow-chroma

Alternatives: Das Keyboard or Luxeed (afaik Luxeed isn't mechanical, but it is RGB backlit and fairly minimalist; Das Keyboard is mechanical and fairly minimal, but not backlit)

There are model M's that are black.
I had one once. Not sure if they were called Model M, but it was fully mechanical and clicky with springs just like the beige ones.
It got hit by a can of pepsi tho and stoped working even after taking it apart and cleaning it 🤣 .

I have one of those and am not loving on it, the heavily used keys are fading after a year or so of every-other-day use. Can't remember the details now but I also recall there being a way of making it wig out with a specific combo of fast key presses.

Unicomp makes a black M. Maybe you had one of those? There are many other black keyboards with clicky switches too (not buckling springs)

It was stamped IBM.
Looked like a normal IBM clicky keyboard, springs plungers... they make the click sound.
I may have the keys in a bag in my storage crates, pretty sure I saved them with the springs, cause I have a whole other crate full of beige ones still.
Spare keys and all that.

Edit
Here is a picture of a beige model that looked like it.. but black. Emblem was in the same place.
IBMClicky1_zpsfd0f8b13.jpg
DID not see the keys in the crate, doesn't mean I don't have them tho 🤣, there probably somewhere.
I have another type of beige one that has a different design too, and a few with AT plugs, that I'm pretty sure are PC/XT keyboards F-row keys are on the left side.
I got a whole bunch in a single purchase long, ago at a show when the keyboards were considered worthless, just junk that offices wanted to get rid.
I liked them back then cause well, they are very good keyboards.

I have a Cherry MX-Board 3.0 with red switches. I love the clean layout, the only extra keys are Vol. Up, Down, Mute, and browser home, which are above the numpad and very out of the way. It's a real joy to type on, I find I can type basically forever on the Red switches without fatigue, and it's shaped like a regular wholesome keyboard. 😀

My work keyboard is a bog standard pack-in Lenovo SK-8225 or equivalent. It's the exact same layout as the older IBM branded keyboards, and is easily the best rubber dome keyboard I've ever used. It's still a bit fatiguing for marathon typing sessions. It feels great to come home and type on the Cherry!

A lot of interesting suggestions here. Too bad many of them are only available in US key configuration. It seems like the difficult part is going to be finding any keyboard without media keys (the ones who combine them with the F-keys tend to add that annoying "Fn" button, meaning shorter spacebar), while at the same time having backlighting. Perhaps I'll need to look into modding something.

I guess in hindsight it was pretty obvious you wanted a Norwegian keyboard. What with being from Norway. 😖

I bet the demographic gets pretty small once you throw in mechanical, Norwegian, and no media keys.
