You need to use a 4:3 resolution in Dosbox, and configure your iMac to stretch the picture. For example:
fullscreen=true
fullresolution=1440x1080 # alternatively you can try 1024x768, 800x600, etc.
aspect=true

edit: also output= setting affects things. Last time I tried Dosbox on a Mac, I used output=opengl

im also getting the same results on windows laptop at work. If I key in the 1440x1080, it doesnt even launch the game. If I key in 1024x768 it looks like the same issue (attached is a screenshot), where theres black bands down the side of the screen.

If you set your Windows laptop or iMac desktop to 1024x768, what happens? Do you have black bars on the sides or is the picture stretched to full width?

That's normal. The game is not designed to run widescreen. If it filled the screen, the picture would be stretched out of proportion. Things that are meant to be square would become rectangular, things that are meant to be circles will become ovals. Make sense?

I'm completely new to dosbox but I'm having problems with this game as well. I'm trying to run it on windows 8.1, but every time I launch the game, it loads, but the only colours it is showing up in is pink, black, blue and grey, and isn't playable at all. I've tried playing about with a few of the settings but nothing seems to make any difference. If somebody could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it greatly.
