So as I've been recording Push-Over, I got to try different video/colour modes for this game, and I noticed that the aspect ratio is wrong when playing the game in EGA mode, either with 16 colours or 64.

Is this normal? On a Pentium 2 system I once had I noticed some games would display in a weird AR like that, especially CGA ones, but I didn't expect this to happen with more "modern" ones. From the unfiltered screenshot above, it seems that on some rows, the pixels are squished, which perhaps would suggest that the entire image (or surface?) isn't stretched to the proper size.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that despite the screenshots above, this happens in both v0.74 and r3869
