Hi

I've been trying to get DOOM to output at my native resolution of 1024x768 in full screen but no luck. When I edit the Dosbox .conf I get a tiny window in the middle of a sea of blackness. I have left the other settings on default. Increasing the resolution above this just makes the viewing area even smaller. However, I can get 800x600 in a full screen, but that looks horrible. The only output that works is surface, as changing to ddraw, opengl just results in a black window and slowness until I end task it.

I should point out that I'm using a circa 2004 Toshiba Portege laptop 1Ghz running XP SP3 that does not have a graphics card (ie it has Trident integrated graphics - cyber xp-4 - that has the last drivers ever released). I am using an iiyama vision master 400 (model no. S701GT) crt monitor as a display since the laptop's built in one is awful.

I assume the issue is scaling, but don't know much about this so need some help.

Try changing these settings:

fullscreen=true
fullresolution=1024x768
output=opengl (or ddraw)
aspect=true
scaler=normal2x

Also, if this doesn't work please attach your config file

That doesn't work at all. I get black screen DosBox window that has extremely slow cursor movement. I have to end task it. The problem with it is the output. Only 'surface' works.

I'm not too bothered with fullscreen=true because I find it more convenient to alt+enter to switch to full screen when I need.

I leave it on surface and aspect on true does make a difference to screen size so that is an improvement I didn't have before. Problem is that display is still too small.

normal2x seems like full speed[/b] is slightly slower than full speed and not enough of the screen is filled up. The size of normal3x is good. It fills up most of the screen apart from black border around the outside. The problem is that it makes the game too slow. Is there a way I can output full screen 1024x768 without resorting to scaling?

Are the display drivers capable of OpenGL?

No, I don't think so.
