I have an Toshiba XM 3401B CD ROM, and when i power it on the laser it self is emitting an beep noise.
When I insert an CD case it spins it and stops it, than ejects it.

When I power it on, the laser head "clicks" and sets into place (magnets?) than it stats to beep a continuous tone.

I will upload a video once i get be to Linux.

Yeah, you're probably better off just buying another CD-ROM drive instead of trying to fix that one.

But its so pretty in a completely metal casing 😭
Ah well. Maybe i can reuse some mechanical parts to fix that eject problem with my NEC one.
