Hello! Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer some help...

I'm trying to play Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego v3.5 (from 1998). I'm on my Macbook laptop from 2008, and I have the original WitWiCS CD. I've downloaded DOSBox, mounted the CD, and have tried to install it, but I am getting an error message telling me the game must run under Microsoft Windows.

The CD could originally install on Windows OR Mac, so I don't know why I'm having this trouble. Isn't DOSBox already emulating Windows?

DOSBox does not emulate Windows games. If you have a Windows 3.1 version, then there is a guide for installing Windows 3.1. If it's 95, then that is unsupported and requires the operating system.

The CD says it should install on Windows 95 or Windows 3.1x. When you mention a guide, do you mean with the CD? Or on this forum?
Sorry if these are obvious questions, but I am really in the dark with all of this.

The Windows 3.1 guide is here: Windows 3.1x DOSBox Guide. It has all the information required to install Windows 3.1 in dosbox. However, there is no guarantee that your game will work in this configuration since dosbox is for dos games. And you may have to find solutions for issues that arise while installing and running your 3.1 compatible game.
