Good morning:

Is there a plan to free up use of the Ctrl key for use with an old word processing DOS app called Q/A by Symantec? I've searched the forum for discussion about the app and about the use of Ctrl keys in general, but didn't see anything.

Q/A is a fine old app, and has a generous amount of macro use possibilities. Unfortunately, not only do many of my macros use the Ctrl key for execution, but there is the need for use of the Ctrl key to edit certain Q/A settings (please see attached screen cap).

Any way to make use of DOSBox' otherwise great functionality to make this app usable?

Thanks.

Use the keymapper to remap the special keys at the bottom right section of it.

Gave that a shot in the beginning. Obviously, not a good enough one. Looking at again. Thanks.

OK, I'm hoping for a clue here. From the previous email, you can see that Q/A uses, for example, Ctrl-F6 to define a page. Dosbox uses Ctrl-F6 to "Start/Stop recording sound output to a wave file". Can you give me an example of how to change DOSBOX using the keymapper so that Ctrl-F6 can become Alt-Ctrl-F6, for example, and Ctrl-F6 can be freed up for Q/A to use? Thanks a lot, very much appreciated.

press ctrl-f1
click RecWave (bottom right)
at the bottom left the mapping is shown, mod1 is ctrl, mod2 is alt.
Click on mod2 so that it becomes white.
Now mod1 and mod2 are selected, thus you have changed ctrl-f6 to ctrl-alt-f6
Rince and repeat
