I've stored this motherboard away for several months, and when I last tested it, it worked just fine. Well at least booted up.
Now it doesn't seem to want to do anything, the only thing I've done since was remove the RAM to test in another machine, and that was all I've done.
Though upon some more investigation, I found it to not like my S3 805 VLB GPU... I tried a Western Digital 90C33 VLB card, but the screen remains blank still, but it actually boots up, and goes through the floppy seek and gave the initial beep... so I tried a Western Digital WD90C30 ISA card... error beep code... and lastly, I go for my Trident ISA card, and instantly get the VGA BIOS boot on the screen and the system booted up, I could get into the BIOS and actually see what I am doing!
So I guess the VGA boards I have may be bad or something? Or some compatibility issue or setting issue on the board for VLB boards?
Right now I am trying to find a working or compatible I/O controller with IDE/FDD. I thought I had a VLB one here somewhere but for now the ISA one I tried, it had some IDE and FDD error when trying to boot, yet oddly it still detected the HDD with out issue in the BIOS. Weird. 🤣
