some of these games!!

This looks like a fun one just for the challenge of actually getting it to run (not much else, heh).

I love adventure games, and I see a few oldies here that I really want. (However, the selection is NOT as great as I initially thought. 🙁 I mean, they have Blade Runner, RAMA, The Dame Was Loaded, The Ward, The Sting, Spycraft, Omikron -- all of which, IMO, were great games, but most of the rest of the stuff (the ones I don't have, heh) look pretty much entirely shitty).

Yes, it’s my fault.

Some interesting oddballs there:

The Arrival :Heard some decent things about this from PC Gamer
Astronomica :Seen this once, looked kind of like an amateur "Multi-Media" title.

Have both of the Beavis and Butthead CD's (the 1st was kind of hard to find).

Blue Ice is on my "looking for it list". Got mediocre reviews.
Knight's Chase

Brain Dead 13 :Have the Mac version, runs under Basilisk. (Like "Dragon's Lair" insanely difficult timing needed, linear, and not necessarily logical on how to proceed).

Comer ? Hrmm...

Crusaders 2000 looks really good.

Dino Park Tycoon :Need to get it for my Nephews
These look interesting
-----------------------------
Down in the Dumps
Eco East Africa
Gadget - Past as Future
Genesys
Gilbert Goodmate
Guilty
L-Zone

Dragon Lore 2 :I could have had this at CompUSA for $7. Shoulda grabbed it.

Duckman :The German version that plays in English?!

Hopkins FBI :Found this one luckily.
Jack Orlando :Found it locally. Waiting to get it cheap.

Elroy... ?!
What's that all about?

Better shut up now...Too many to jabber on about...

Very interesting though.

Hopkins FBI I actually got FROM THE COMPANY THAT MADE IT. It's SUCH a homebrew production -- the CD is just a CD-R with a white label on it. It's very well done, though, for such a measly bit of work. Now Uplink, that's an *extremely* good homebrewed game. Pressed and all. And for Linux, too!

The Ward uses some kind of propietary module format, which is depressing because it has some great music I was hoping to be able to rip directly. Oh, well. Maybe GAP can do it, though I'm not holding my breath. I actually think this was only a slightly larger than homebrewed game (it's pressed, not burned, and extremely good looking, but there were very few people on the development team).

I have the original Gadget. It's very disturbing and... not really a game at all, like the review on that site's sister site says (try saying that five times aloud). I don't like it because it has almost no music (and what there is isn't really even music) and the graphics are crap compared to what you can do today with any 3D engine (even friggin Q2 could do this). Make a 3D version of it and I'm there, though. It's very cool!

Speaking of 3D artwork, there is apparently this group of seniors at my school making this thing called the "Virtual Gallery" which is a collection of various artwork. They're making it in -- get this -- UNREAL TOURNAMENT. Pathetic, to say the least. And of course, their demo was thoroughly terrible (they didn't even bother to record a good one, they just did it on-the-spot, even though there were, like, 2 things in the entire presentation. Booooring. I should've been in the group, but I heard nothing about it. Damn seniors, keeping all the fun to themselves. Or something. >.<

Oh, and Elroy is an edutainment series. I have one of them. It's pretty nifty, and the style is quite cool (think paper cutouts). IIRC, some of the puzzles are pretty hard to do, too. Haven't played it in a long time, though.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Hey, you work with what you have. I remember I really like the Notre Dame simulator made with the Unreal engine. Of course, that was a few years ago.

Tangent time: TO ALL FUTURE ACTION GAME DESIGNERS, make sure your game has an automatic "black box" recorder that records your game every time someone plays. This way, when something "cool" happens in a game, the player can go back and save the recording instead of saying "aw, man I wished something like that would happen when I record a demo". I only made a few Quake3 recordings because of the lag it induced (I was on an original GeForce with a Celeron II at the time). But still, re-living the moment from a playback can be more fun than the original event. And it sure beats trying to describe what happened to someone else.

I still remember a game of "Big Red Racing" where I was racing a powered raft. I was winning right up until the moment I had run it aground. I was punching the turbo (nitro-boost, whatever). Was just barely able to get my boat back in the water with my last boost while dropping back to 8th or 9th place as other craft flew by me. Figure there was no wasy I could win (less than 30 seconds to pass everyone and win) so I just cut loose with no rhyme or reason hitting all the jump ramps with wild abandon. Lost control within sight of the finish line, but was stunned to see my boat (tumbling wildly out of control) just barely beat the 1st guy and hit the finish line. That's what you need a replay for... Remember, every action game from now on, OK? The Flight-Sim people already know the truth of this...

I should've been in the group, but I heard nothing about it. Damn seniors, keeping all the fun to themselves.

Don't worry, it all goes away when you graduate.

Actually, no, that's a lie; it gets worse. Try not to think about it...

Ok, the icons are loading properly now. Previously the only Elroy image I saw was of the kid, now combine that with the title of "Elroy Hits the Pavement" and you might see the rather unpleasant mental imagery that was popping into my head.

Appears a local computer store has has received a shipment of these (Windows version, I believe), selling in-box for $8.
